He popped the question!

I saw it coming… sooner than later. Darling popped the question on Tuesday night (Valentine’s eve) and Mikey was the “ringbearer”. He had quietly placed the ring around Mikey’s collar while I was inside the kitchen. My cat didn’t know what was going on of course.

So after I came back from the kitchen, darl asked me to bring Mikey, who was then eating, to him. That’s when I saw the ring and immediately after, he asked me if I wanted to marry him :> “YES of course!”. It was a nice surprise indeed! But I kind of had a feeling that darl was hiding something because he has this smile that he can’t hide when he tries to give me a surprise :> I know my baby too well. This is the 2nd time that he proposes to me. The first time was an unofficial one done last August on top of Mt Signaux during our holidays in Mauritius :>

Well … who would have thought that the guy whom I started dating 5 years ago would become my husband one day :> I am indeed happy! We are! But something very sad is due to happen any time soon — it’s dear’s father who has been battling cancer since last year and he is in his final stage already … This Sunday we will have a small tea ceremony at his father’s place. This Sunday it’s Chinese New Year too. So happy early Lunar New Year!!

Birthday Bash and Food Cravings

Yesterday I attended Mrs Bala’s 60th birthday bash which was held at the Four Seasons Hotel. Mrs Bala was dear’s teacher back in primary school (that’s when she became dear’s godmother). She was a tough cookie and gave dear, who was then the naughtiest of the naughtiest class, a hard time. But if it wasn’t for her (as well as Calvin, dear’s guardian), my baby would have followed the wrong path in life and would possibly not be who he is today! Mrs Bala is dear’s mentor and role model. She graduated at 51 years old and has taught dear to never say ‘die’ … I’m happy that both Mrs Bala and Calvin are part of dear’s life. They are indeed his God-sent angels who made a difference in his life.

After the party, dear and I headed to Devils Bar where I had a tequila shot, a glass of vodka sprite and just enjoyed the night together. We didn’t stay long because I had my long run the next morning (which was cancelled because of the haze but mainly because of pure laziness! More about this another day that is if I remember).

Every month (or several times a month) I get very bad cravings prior to my menses. Yesterday was the day. What I ate for dinner wasn’t enough. My two drinks weren’t enough either. I still felt hungry. I was rather craving for some junk food, something salty. So I bought a cup of scoop-it snack from 7-11. Wasn’t enough. Next, I ate a BK hamburger, shared a double mushroom swiss cheese burger with dear and some french fries! *nod nod* … Next I wanted something sweet! So I dropped by 7-11 once again to buy chocolate bread! Poor dear who had to follow me around. Thank God my cravings were gone after the chocolate bread!! I was a satisfied lady : ) Gosh I hate it when I get those cravings which I can’t control.

Here are a few birthday photos that were taken from my camera. Will add more photos taken by the photographer another time.

Bits & Pieces

Today, dear and I chatted online for the first time in 4 and 1/2 years haha. It was over google chat which was installed on his pc (by me) a few weeks ago.

So the World Cup fever is over. I went to bed at around 1 am and I didn’t watch the match. Neither did my brother – what a surprise! haa. I wanted France to win.

I took leave this Wednesday because I am going to Bishan Stadium to support and watch the grand National Primary Championship 2006 finals.

I went for a long run on saturday and my total mileage for last week was 40 km. That is a more than 10% increased compared to the previous week.

(Finally) going to watch Superman Returns at Omnimax theatre this Thursday with dear and colleagues. It’s a company outing.

Team Dynamic Birthday Gathering

Went to train at the stadium on saturday. Wow this is my first run since last Saturday! Dar and I did a 4 km slow run and it was enjoyable! Looking forward for our next run next Saturday. After that, I did some pyramid runs and some circuit training.

Then I went to pick the birthday cake which we’d ordered on Friday evening. I’d told the bakery lady to create a stadium birthday cake with a man running in one lane and to add the word ‘Team Dynamic’ in the middle. I couldn’t wait to see how the cake looked like.

And here’s how it turned out hehe. It was good enough for me.

The cake was actually for Khalis and dar. Khalis’ birthday was on Friday and dar’s one is yet to come.

A big group photo.
