Geylang Utd Vs Home Utd

I went to see the final Singapore Cup soccer match this afternoon at Jalan Besar Stadium with Dar. Home United (again) won this year’s Singapore Cup after beating Geylang United 2-1 I support Geylang United and was hoping that they would win but they did not… But it’s okay. They should work harder for next year’s Cup. If I had my digital cam, I would have taken some pictures!

Geez I spent 25 mins queuing up just to get one corn + peanut pancake with egg worth $1.30 at Jalan Besar Coffee shop, where Dar and I had supper after the match. Their multi flavoured pancake is quite famous. The place was very crowded as everyone was watching the English soccer match from the public TV (hanging on the wall). The food there is really delicious. They sell Satay, Rojak, Pancakes and a lot more! Oh I also had chinese Rojak, a delicious local mixed salad (very sweet) – see pic below, for supper I love eating Rojak!!!

I’m planning to study till very late today… I have so much to catch up…

Chinese Rojak Recipe – Tropical Fruit Salad with Peanut SauceSource

rojak2.jpg

Serves 8 / This colorful salad neatly blends sweet fruit with vegetables and tops it all off with a peanut and chili sauce that also makes a delicious gravy over rice or Chinese noodles. A traditional recipe would include tamarind juice and bunga kantan, a fleshy pink edible flower.

Miss those old days

I was looking at some old pictures especially those that were taken in Beijing (1997-2000) and I miss every single one of them. I can’t help but think about those good old days – Frozan, Pamo, Pamela, Hiba, Patricia, Neishanta, Amol, Imoh, Rubthong, Grace, Enyu, Patrick, Val, Eric, Whesley, Jason, Joshua, Kelvin, Kate… They were awesome people! I’m thankful to those who still keep in touch with me. However I wonder how the rest are doing. I wonder where they are. I wonder what they have been up to since we left China. I sometimes think that if I was in China now (at 21 yrs old) I would have handled some situations much better. I think that I’m a more daring person now. Look who is talking!

Anyway… I definitely want to go back and visit the country where I spent the rest of my late teen years. I heard that there have been lots of changes and the place where I used to stay (Sanlitun area) has changed tremendously. I heard that the famous ‘San Li Tun‘ market doesn’t exist anymore. And I don’t know if they have destroyed the ‘Bar’ street which was lively at night and was frequented by foreigners. Ah, I also want to go there to take pictures, now that I own a digital cam All the photos that you are seeing right now are scanned pics, hence the quality isn’t good.

In memory of ‘daddy’ hamster

In memory of “Daddy” Hamster

November 2001 – October 2003

“Daddy” Hammie was one of my two very first hamsters. I got him in January 2002 and he was a few months old then. He died today, 4th October 2003, between 12 pm to 2 pm. He died from old age as he was around 2 years old plus. I saw him grow and I saw him pass away. May he rest in peace. He will always be remembered. If it wasn’t for him, “uncle” hammie, “ti-femme” hammie and many of his children wouldn’t have seen light.
