Diarrhea and vomiting

I felt quite sick last night. I didnt sleep the WHOLE night. I got severe diahhrea and had watery bowel movements more than 20 times in the past 10 hours! Yeah it was that bad & very uncomfortable and I had nausea & vomiting associated with diarrhea. Yuk. I puked rotten food, mostly the fried curry puff that I had eaten earlier and lots of water. Eeek I don’t wanna think what else came out and so do you! I am a bit weak right now. I lost at least 1 kg of body fluid. Today, I had no choice but to take a sick leave. I’m gonna get back some sleep now. But before that, here’s a little information on diarrhea.

Diarrhea

Diarrhea is defined as a change in normal bowel habits that include the frequent passage of loose, fluid stool. You may also have abdominal cramps or gas. If not treated promptly, diarrhea may result in dehydration, weakness, weight loss and poor nutrition.

Stomach Upset

Feeling sick. I’m bulping rotten things. Eeek! Disgusting :???: I can’t eat oily things or heavy gravy-like sauce anymore without them upsetting my stomach. That is why I prefer soup-based food. But I can’t resist those crispy snacks  I ate so many different things today. I’m pms-ing and hope that my menses come this week i.e BEFORE the marathon. I’m gonna faint while running if I’m having it during the marathon. Just kidding – well I seriously hope that that won’t happen!

Mum left Singapore today and after 7 hrs by plane, she has already landed Mauritius. She just smsed. We miss her all  See you next year (most probably) mum!

Dar and I watched ‘The Shutter’ (a supposed-to-be-scary Thai movie) this afternoon. It wasn’t as scary as some korean movies that I’d seen before. I did like the movie though.

Last week and today

My last week at my new workplace was pretty ok. I had time to breathe and settle down and that is an important thing i.e to make the new employee setttle down first. I normally wake up between 7.30 and 8 am (except on days when I go for a morning run) and I reach my office at around 9.15 am. Lunch is at noon. At 6.30 pm I leave the office.. So basically I am on my arse for 8 hours. No wonder sometimes my knees or arse hurts from too much of sitting!

Well today is Saturday and I don’t work during the weekend (thank god). I went to run at MacRitchie Reservoir this morning and after that, spent some time with my dear. Then the long awaited call came and he headed back to his army camp immediately. Today many, if not all NS men had to report back to their unit camp as they had a major army activity to do.

For dinner, my family and I went to a seafood restaurant at Riverside Point (Clarke Quay). Ahhh the crab was delicious. We ate chilly crab, pepper crab, steamed crab and a few other dishes. I liked the pepper crab the most. View more photos of today

And last week we ate indian food at a vegetarian restaurant at Little India. The ‘naan’ was nice! View more photos of last | week

Some Indian Food

Ate at a veretarian restaurant at Little India with my family the other day. The ‘naan’ was the best! Love it

Mizuno Wave 10 km Run 2004

Mizuno Wave run was great. I came in 16th in the women open with a timing of 48 min 18 sec (my new pb) . But oh darn! you know what … if I had come in 15th, I would have gotten a medal! They give medals to the first 15 winners. I lost to this girl who was just 5 m away from me! *sob sob* … I overtook her along the way but she overtook me again. I’m quite sure if I knew at that moment that I was among the first 16 runners to reach the finish line, I would have run even faster & faster ( even though I was already so tired) in the last minute to get that 15th position. Yes I’m disappointed but well it doesn’t matter. There’s always a next time and besides, it’s the timing that really counts right  I am happy with my new personal best for 10 km.

Why rope skipping?

According to one source 10 minutes of jumping rope is equal to 30 minutes of running at a 5.7 mph pace. Also most sources quote it as being an efficient calorie burner about 12 calories per minute for a 68-kg person who jumps 120 times in a minute. But more importantly Rope jumping, or skipping is a workout that involves the whole body. It tones the muscles of the upper body (especially the deltoids and to a lesser degree the chest and upper back) as well as the lower body (especially the calves and the hamstrings). Jump rope promotes definition of the abdominal muscles and it reduces cellulite. For athletes it is excellent, as aside from the cardiovascular training benefits it also significantly increases jumping and running potential.

The wedding Reception

The house seems quiet without my parents and sis around. I kinda have this lonely feeling… Sis just smsed – they have safely reached Bangkok. I asked them to bring some fried grasshoppers (if they see any) back to Singapore haha. I heard that they sell fried grasshoppers along the streets and apparently they taste quite good hehe.

Jonathan & sis’ wedding dinner was nice and everything was okay. The way a wedding dinner is done here is slightly different from the way we do it in Mauritius. It was my first time attending a wedding reception in Singapore! Anyhoo… I met some mauritian friends whom I haven’t seen for ages! I was in blue last night and dar was in red. My bikini lines were pretty obvious and it looked as if I was wearing a transparent bra  Oh well I didn’t care  The wedding reception ended at around 11 pm. After that we stayed at the hotel. I got a room for myself and slept close to 4 am with the TV on! (I felt asleep while watching TV)… This morning I woke up at 10 am, had breakfast, chit-chatted with my parents and then we (me, parents, Jon and sis) all headed to China Town. They are now in Bangkok.

I have taken a few photos only as I didn’t have enough batteries with me. The photographer has taken many more photos of the bride and groom. I will put his photos on Jonthan & Sis wedding website soon after I get them.

I have signed up for the Mizuno’s 10 km run on the last day of registration! The run is on this Sunday and the next day it’s my first day at work! I’m gonna miss all the free times and waking up late … *sign*

There’s a zit on my face

Woke up at 6.30 am today and met some friends at McRitchie Reservoir for a 7 km and 5 km morning run. Pffff the 7 km run was good but the 5 km run was pretty bad! But the overall run was fun. McRitchie Reservoir is a great place to run by the way. I’m looking forward to go there again. Mum, dad, An and I visited ‘The Petals’ condo this afternoon to look at some showflats. I liked the way they decorated the house inside. It is well done and attractive to the eyes! Hmmm the price of the apartment is high too :???:

Before I forget … to all my muslim friends, Selamat Hari Raya!! We are going to the big ‘Passamalam‘ ‘pasarmalam’ (night market) tonight. Yummy food!! I love crispy peanut pancakes!!

Finally my sis’ photo projector is done. It’s very simple. The projector will be shown during the SG wedding reception which is on Monday! I will be wearing a blue outfit – A tube and a long skirt. Well … time to get some rest! Goodnight …

If you want to know who I support … well I hope Taufik wins this Singapore Idol singing competition.
