Yay it’s Friday!

Well the long awaited weekend is finally here! Yay! Love Fridays! But hate Sundays! Today’s monthly company presentation has been postponed to next week as quite a few of us won’t be around. I’m supposed to present on ‘The W3C Standard Comformance’. I used to ignore those web standards set by the W3C and I know for sure that I’m not the only one out there. Well not anymore. All designers and web developers must try to make sure that their sites conform to those standards or at least know what it’s about.

I’m meeting dar later in the North to order his big birthday cake for tomorrow. We are having a pre-birthday celebration among some of his students and friends tomorrow at the stadium.

Feel like having ‘Old Chang kee‘ curry puff once again (had them last Friday) for lunch hahaha. I don’t care how oily it is. Ah yummy! I had a delicious ‘Old Chang Kee’ curry puff for lunch. Hmmm I’m craving for an indian curry too. And I want the curry + beehoon that dar bought last time!

Friskies Purina Championship Cat Show 2006

Web Discoveries – Oolong (rabbit)

Anyone heard of Oolong, the rabbit? According to Wikipedia, Oolong was the name of a rabbit owned by a Japanese photographer. Oolong became well known in 2001 through his owner’s homepage. Oolong’s owner posted this message following his rise in popularity. What was this rabbit famous for? Well, Oolong could balance objects on his head! This was taught by his owner hehehe. It’s so sad that the rabbit died in 2003 – his owner took photos of his last moments alive. I can’t imagine my cat passing away. I would be super devastated :( Unfortunately nothing lasts forever ….

Falling Sky

The whole thing just fell down yesterday! Water is still leaking from top, most probably due to the rusting pipes. Our company is shifting soon, hopefully somewhere in Tanjong Pagar itself and not too far from the train station. Quite a few bad things have happened to us this year – power cuts, damaged air cons etc. etc …

Mauritius at the games

I know this is old news but ….

Well, if you’re looking for good resolution photos of Stephan Buckland at the Commonwealth Games, check out Helen Morgan’s Flickr photos! Her photos are great and clear! Buckland won silver for 200m with the same time as the gold medalist (20.47). He only missed the gold by the width of his vest! Awwww. Anyway, we, Mauritians are still proud of him! N’est pas?

Diary-X

I can’t believe Diary-X drives crashed and ALL data were lost! It happened in February and it’s only now that I know about it (I haven’t visited Diary-X for sooo long!). My first journal, back in 2001, was hosted at Diary-X. Most of my latest intnet.mu pages are linking to Diary-X … so now the pages don’t load and I don’t have access to my intnet.mu FTP server to update the pages … Anyway, I was reading somewhere that a community project, called Codexed, is constructing a site which combines the features popularized by Diary-X with more modern features popular on other services.

Series, Reality shows etc.

Some of the shows that I watch a bit more often or when I get bored.

American Idol 5

I am watching it this year and my favourite is Katherine Mcphee!!

Desperate Housewives

I never followed season one when they were airing it last year in Singapore. But just recently, I discovered housewives-media.com. Watched all season one episodes in just two and a half days and all the latest season two episodes. Got nagged by dar haaha.

Renovate my Family

I watched one episode of Renovate my Family on channel 16 – Discovery chanel and I loved the show!! Unfortunately, that was the only episode that I watched. Seems that channel 16 isn’t showing anymore … But channel 5 is showing something similar called Extreme Makeover Home Edition.

Faking It

Faking It is a transformational battle against the odds. The faker is plucked from their natural habitat and given four weeks to master a skill well enough to fool a group of expert judges.

Room Raiders

They show it on MTV and I watch it whenever I happen to see it.

Fear Factor

Is fear a factor for you? hehehe.

sprintdynamic.com

Spend the whole night revamping dar’s website, sprintdynamic.com. I’m satisfied with the end result! I’m now using Joomla content management system instead of wordpress. It’s much easier to update as the site grows bigger. I was thinking of using Joomla for sgrunners too. There are forum components for Joomla. But it’s too late to change sgrunners forum now as the database it super big already + we all are used to the current one.
